Postnatal Doula Services and Overnight Doula
Postnatal Doula Services and Overnight Doula
Postnatal In-home and Overnight doula
After returning home from the hospital, if the baby isn't sleeping and you feel exhausted with chores piling up, hiring a postnatal doula may help you regain balance. A postnatal doula supports mothers and partners in adjusting to new life by providing care for the baby while the mother rests, showers, or catches up on tasks.
An overnight doula offers nighttime in-home support, arriving around 8 PM to listen to the mother’s concerns and provide connection. If needed, the doula can offer massages or relaxation techniques like yoga nidra. She will care for the baby while the mother gets ready for bed, assisting with nursing or formula feeding. While the mother sleeps, the doula can handle light household tasks, such as laundry or meal prep, and will ensure the mother stays hydrated and nourished. This cycle continues until morning.
Imagine you get home from the hospital and you are on day 7, baby isn't sleeping, mama is exhausted and the dishes and laundry are piled up. Hiring a postnatal doula could be just what you need to help you find balance and rest.
As a postnatal doula it is my goal to help mama and her partner adapt and find a balance with their new life. This could look like coming over for a few hours and tending to baby while mama takes a nap, a shower, catches up on work or school work.
Helping out with light house work, meal prep, etc.
